PROJECT “VENTO, PORTI E MARE” – MONITORING AND FORECASTING OF THE METEO-MARINE CONDITIONS FOR A SAFE ACCESS TO PORT AREAS”
Funded by the cross-border cooperation Program between Italy and France in 2007-2013. The original project created a monitoring network, numerical modelling, a statistical mapping and a forecast system for short-medium term specifically for the wind in port areas.
The new project extends the monitoring network, the numerical modeling and the medium-term forecast to wave motion and to the waters in front of the ports of the project’s partners. The integrated wind-wave system will be implemented to increase the security and accessibility of ports in relation to local weather and sea conditions. The data about monitoring and forecasts will be made available to port users through an upgrade of the web-GIS system developed for the “Vento e Porti” project and the creation of a new interface for smartphones. Partners: Port Authority of Genoa, Port Authority of Savona, Port Authority of La Spezia, Port Authority of Livorno, Chamber of Commerce of Bastia and University of Genoa.

CONTEST- COMMUNITY EXPERIMENT TROUGH THE EXPLOITATIONS OF SOCIAL CONFLICT
Lifelong Learning Programme – The CONTEST project was aimed to improve new approaches and tools to manage interpersonal, social and cultural conflicts in order to enhance social cohesion in Europe and to strenghten European identity. Beyond the strictly economic effects, another – no less dangerous – aspect of the crisis is a real risk of social conflict.
The progressive consolidation of a new presence in the cities, the profound changes that are affecting the culture and lifestyles, the economic crisis accelerate the change in the social tissue and in the type of relations between people. There is the presence of hardship, difficulty in cohabitation, conflict manifests and / or potential related to the existence of prejudice and discriminatory attitudes against persons and / or groups. This is a phenomenon to look with constant attention and about which the partnership considered necessary to develop interpretation tools and languages as common as possible and shared at European level: this in order to give positive and concrete answers in terms of management and exploitation of conflicts as resources for change.
